A few weeks back Toronto hosted it’s annual all-night art party called Nuit Blanche. It’s a dusk-to-dawn event with celebrations and events across the city.
Part of the evening featured 100 beekeepers in meditation. They meditated for a 5-hour period (taking a break every 15 minutes). It was described as:
The performance will consider the relationship of temper to weather. The beekeepers will silently meditate on notions of “good weather” for the bees and for all of us, attempting to transform environmental conditions with their minds.
The beekeepers also did this to raise awareness. We had 4 friends amongst them and I am fiercely proud of them all.
Rather than telling you about it, here’s a 1-minute video that captures the spirit of the evening (the buzzing you hear is the beekeepers who did this during the session we attended):
It was an amazing event.
